Iris is a genus in the Iridaceae family. There are about 300 species of Iris, they are perennial geophytes and are common in most areas of the world as wild or ornamental plants. There are over 15 species in Israel, some with tubers, some with bulbs, and some with a thickened rhizome.
Iris blooms in Israel from May to August.
